    THE TEACHING OF LOVE

Is it really important for you
    which religion someone might follow?
For if they decide what to do,
there are things that they should know...

Many religions appear to be different from the other,
but all of them claim to be the only right one:
Though we should treat everyone as sister or brother,
seeing more could get many problems gone

I wish you could open your eyes and see,
there is so much that religions have in common
    - maybe some time in the future we will be free,
understanding that all religions really are one
We should treat each other like family,
this is how it really should be
    - it is not the differences that I'm thinking of,
but what is in common - the teaching of love

We shouldn't kill each other or fight,
because of what we believe in:
We just need to stick to what is right,
understanding each other is a good way to begin

Not everything that is different is wrong,
sometimes it is simply another kind of way
    - tolerating what's different shows you're strong,
I believe that it is the teachings in common that should stay

I wish you could open your eyes and see,
there is so much that religions have in common
    - maybe some time in the future we will be free,
understanding that all religions really are one
We should treat each other like family,
this is how it really should be
    - it is not the differences that I'm thinking of,
but what is in common - the teaching of love

Just try to understand the way others go,
not convincing or trying to change what they believe:
Trying to see that the different forms will show,
that by accepting there is much we can achieve

I wish you could open your eyes and see,
there is so much that religions have in common
    - maybe some time in the future we will be free,
understanding that all religions really are one
We should treat each other like family,
this is how it really should be
    - it is not the differences that I'm thinking of,
but what is in common - the teaching of love

    BECAUSE WE'RE ONE

    Why do you keep fighting,
when you really should try to understand?
For others your way should be lighting,
even if they are coming from another land

If the way you go is really right,
why then do you need to fight?
    Aren't the arguments convincing enough?
Do you really need to be so rough?

I wish you could find a way to see,
the difference is not as big as it seems to be:
It is just some details you are fighting for,
that shouldn't be counting so much more
There is nothing you need to fight about
    - instead find out what is in common,
    because I don't really have a doubt:
In reality humanity should be one
No matter what needs to be done,
we should try to get the troubles gone
    - because we're one

Don't you see the tears of pain,
that are cried every single day?
Is this the kind of memory you want to remain?
Why does it have to be this way?

Each time I have to explain,
I can feel it all over again:
Only living what we believe in
would be enough to show how to begin

I wish you could find a way to see,
the difference is not as big as it seems to be:
It is just some details you are fighting for,
that shouldn't be counting so much more
There is nothing you need to fight about
    - instead find out what is in common,
    because I don't really have a doubt:
In reality humanity should be one
No matter what needs to be done,
we should try to get the troubles gone
    - because we're one

Find out what is really true,
because the difference only lies in you:
Stick to what you should be thinking of
    - the most important teaching - the one of love

I wish you could find a way to see,
the difference is not as big as it seems to be:
it is just some details you are fighting for,
that shouldn't be counting so much more
There is nothing you need to fight about
    - instead find out what is in common,
    because I don't really have a doubt:
In reality humanity should be one
No matter what needs to be done,
we should try to get the troubles gone
    - because we're one
