    YOUR CHOICE

Anything can happen each and every day
    - at times you'd even wonder what is coming all the way
It is not even important what role you choose to play,
because sometimes something might get to lead you astray

You start to feel you might need to go,
just how and where you don't get to know
Time's passing by - too fast to react, but still somehow slow,
but while learning the lesson you might actually grow

It seems impossible to get right through,
so you're unsure what you might be able to do...
You might get tips or help if you wanted to,
but in the end the decision is right up to you

You need to think about each problem very well,
for it wouldn't be nice at all if you fell
    - if you had more experiences you could tell,
but maybe one or the other hint might get to ring some bell

At times you might just need some strength to try,
it's not hard to tell the reason why:
hard times are no reason to hang down your head and cry
    - instead you might just have to look around to find you have an ally

It seems impossible to get right through,
so you're unsure what you might be able to do...
You might get tips or help if you wanted to,
but in the end the decision is right up to you

You need someone so you don't have to always be alone,
just in case that at times you might feel somehow down
    - someone who is willing to go right with you into the unknown,
who is being around so you don't have to face all on your own

At times you might just  want to choose a different place to be,
because this way you might get other things to see,
but it makes no sense at all if you try to flee
    - maybe in time you learn enough to be able to agree

It seems impossible to get right through,
so you're unsure what you might be able to do...
You might get tips or help if you wanted to,
but in the end the decision is right up to you

You need to be persistent enough to see it through,
so you get to find what's exactly right for you to do
    - I'll always be there in case you want me to,
but the one who has to decide - the one who's got the choice - is you

    BY THE RIVERSIDE...

I close my eyes to dream away,
because I need some time today:
Time to relax and maybe let it go,
so where my thoughts lead me I will just follow

When I open up my eyes again,
I see a place where I like to be
    - a place where it is good to remain,
for I'm sitting under a beautiful tree

As I look up into the sky,
during the time that's going by,
I notice the colours of the sunrise
the wind blows, somewhere I see some butterflies...

    On the meadow, around me,
I find a place where I sit down
There is a river I can see,
    slowly flowing - I'm alone

I watch the falling leaves on their way
    - on each of them is a bad thought that shouldn't stay:
They fall onto the river, floating slow,
carrying my bad thoughts to where they go
I start to feel better than before
because my head is getting clear:
Inner peace starts spreading deep inside my core,
the longer I am staying here

I feel sun on my skin, the wind in my face
    - I enjoy being right here, at this place
When I'm return to where I used to be,
the peace I feel here is what I'm taking with me

    IT'S NOT THEM

They are human beings - just as you are,
but their country is at war,
so they needed to leave the place
    - so in other countries they now leave a trace

They are trying to find a way
to survive by getting asylum there,
because they hardly have a place to stay
    - but they need some place - somewhere

Imagine to be in their situation
    - don't you think in returning they see some complication,
because where they're coming from is a fight?
Unfortunately there's no end in sight...
Don't you think they need a place to be?
Aren't you able to just see
if you were them you'd do the same?
So it's not them that you should blame...

Somehow they have made it here,
but it seems things are not quite clear:
The organization is not good enough,
so that the time they have is really rough

It is hard for them to get along,
because they have difficulties to express
    - they don't speak the country's tongue,
organizing help seems to be a real mess

Imagine to be in their situation
    - don't you think in returning they see some complication,
because where they're coming from is a fight?
Unfortunately there's no end in sight...
Don't you think they need a place to be?
Aren't you able to just see
if you were them you'd do the same?
So it's not them that you should blame...

The people who live in the country they're now
start to act up - I don't know how...
The media are playing with people's fear,
at times the call is heard they should disappear

Media talk about a rising crime rate,
about them stealing jobs and acting wrong...
Don't they see - they just are raising racehate,
why don't they stop yelling they should go where they belong...

Why don't they try to stop the war,
while keeping them safe right where they are:
Don't they see it would be better to stop the fight
that at first made them try to put their faith in flight?

They need to deal with their memories,
with a situation that's hard to face...
They are being sidelined because of the differences
I think they'd rather live in a different place...
